Woman's bill is on cards. Everyone is hoping more out of less. NCW-National Commission for Women is working more and more for the cause of women. After all women bus, all women petrol pump and police stations, now it's the turn of an all women prison. Soon, Karnataka will get a woman's prison. Actually the government has decided to convert an existing jail in Tumkur for women.
According to TOI:
Besides roomier cells and recreation centres, the renovated prison will have a hospital, a creche to accommodate up to 60 children of the inmates, and classrooms for continuing education for the convicts. Current figures reveal that 180 women convicts and another 200 women undertrials are languishing in different jails across the state.Actually the NCW has recommended that all states should have at least one prison exclusively for women to ensure better security and privacy. Well begin, half done.
